Albania national football team profile history FSHF Federata Shqiptare e Futbollit was founded on juny 1930 and is controlled by the Football Association of Albania, became a member UEFA affiliation in 1954 and FIFA affiliation in 1932.
The Albanian national football team existed before FSHF was created in 1930, with the participation in the Balkan cup tournament of 1929-1931. Albania's national-team debut arrived on 22 September 1946 with a 5-0 thrashing of Montenegro. Another memorable occasion was the 1-1 home draw with the Northern Ireland of George Best and Pat Jennings in November 1965, which ended the visitors' FIFA World Cup qualifying hopes. Albania dealt a similar blow to West Germany after a goalless UEFA European Championship qualifier in December 1967.

From 1991 crucial political and economic changes had a tremendous effect as the nation's centralised financial and political systems fell. The result for footballers was an opportunity to travel. Sulejman Demollari went to FC Dinamo Bucuresti in Romania; Rudi Vata joined Enosis Neon Paralimni FC of Cyprus and then Scotland's Celtic FC. Greece and the Balkan states were other popular destinations.
In December 2007, Football Association of Albania's president, Armand Duka, announced Arie Haan would replace Croatian-Austrian Otto Baric as Albania's head coach. Haan signed a two-year contract on January 4, 2008. On March 14, 2008, Albania was suspended from international football (FIFA and UEFA), due to heavy political interference in the Football Association. The suspension lasted 46 days. Haan was replaced by Croatian coach Josip Kuze in May 2009. Kuze parted ways with Albania almost three years later, in December 2011, when coach Gianni de Biasi replaced him.
